BADMINTON STATE SINGLES AND DOUBLES CHAMPIONSHIPS

FRIDAY OCT. 19 AND SATURDAY OCT. 20

At Independence High School -  6602 N. 75th Ave., Glendale

Play in singles and doubles begins Friday at 10 a.m. and continues throughout the day ending with quarterfinals. Play resumes Saturday at 10 a.m. with the semifinals, finals and third-place matches.

NOTES: New champs will be crowned in singles and doubles. Perry returns one state placer from last year, singles runner-up Julia Mumme. Last year's third-place singles finisher Brennan Agnew also returns. Ducyk was a quarterfinalist each of the last two years in D-II. Queen Creek is competing in D-I this year. Skyline's Daas is competing in singles this year after finishing third in doubles last year. Liberty's Marino was part of a D-II doubles quarterfinalist team last year.
