While Sunnyside, as a team, is fighting for its 31st state title, Roman Bravo-Young is going for his fourth-straight individual championship, which would make him the 31st wrestler in Arizona history to accomplish that feat.
Wresting in the 132-pound division, Bravo-Young is also setting new standards for winning. The Penn State commit entered the Division I state championships with a perfect 178-0 record and sits alone with 181 after taking three straight to qualify for the final match against Steven Jarman of Mesa. Deer Valley standout Jacob Swift set the previous unbeaten mark of 179 in 2016. Former Morenci standout Waldo Gutierrez is third with 178.
