Walden Grove pulled out a tight victory over Cienega to capture the Diego Gadea Invitational hosted by Salpointe on Friday and Saturday. The Red Wolves scored 231 points, Cienega finished with 227.5 and Cesar Chavez took third with 189.

Walden Grove was paced by five individual champions including Chris Lopez (108), Diego Guerrero (122), Carlos Ramos (134), Sal Silva (140) and Evan Killgore (147). Guerrero (38-1) was named Most Outstanding Wrestler along with Adam Henderson (49-0) of Blue Ridge.

The various wrestling sectionals are slated for Feb. 2-3 while the state tournament will take place from Feb. 8-10 at the Prescott Valley Event Center.
