Brophy Prep welcomes seven other top Division I pograms to its annual boys volleyball invitational on Friday April 8 and Saturday April 9.

Heading the field is uber-talented Boulder Creek, the top-ranked team in D-I and one of the top teams in the country. Boulder Creek is 25-1 for the season and  dropped only two sets in posting a 9-0 mark in power-ranking matches this season .Also in the field are #5 Brophy,  #6 Hamilton, #8 Desert Vista, #9 Sandra Day O'Connor, #10 Gilbert, #11 Mesa Mtn. View and #15 Highland.

Friday April 8 action begins at noon and features pool and cross-pool play. Matches are two sets to 25 with a cap of 27. Teams will be seeded for action after Friday for  Saturday April 9 for double-elimination bracket play. Competition Saturday begins at 9 a.m. and continues to the title match at approximately 4 p.m.

The pool assignments for Friday: Pool A -- Boulder Creek, Sandra Day O'Connor, Brophy, Mountain View. Pool B -- Highland, Desert Vista, Gilbert and Hamilton.

Schedule for Saturday -- 9 a.m. -- #1 vs. #8 and #2 vs. #7; 10 a.m. -- #3 vs. #6 and #4 vs. #5. 11 a.m. -- 1-8 loser vs. 4-5 loser; 2-7 loser vs. 3-6 loser. Noon -- 1-8 winner vs. 4-5 winner; 2-7 winner vs. 3-6 winner. 1 p.m. -- consolation semifinals; 2 p.m. -- championship semifinals. 3 p.m. -- Third-place; 4 p.m. -- Championship.
