Hey, who pulled the plug? Power outage delays game

The boys basketball teams from Glendale Deer Valley and Kingman high schools don’t want to be left in the dark in terms of trying to earn a spot in the Class 5A Division II state tournament.
That underscores the importance of finishing a Feb. 1 game at Deer Valley. With about 4 ½ minutes left in the game and Kingman holding onto a nine-point lead, the power went out.
So the teams will resume their battle for valuable power points at a date to be determined. The likely window of opportunity will be Feb. 11, when Kingman next comes to the Valley for a game at Phoenix Sandra Day O'Connor.
Kingman likely would arrive in the Valley earlier in the day, finish the game at Deer Valley at say, 3 p.m. or so, before moving on to Sandra Day O'Connor. Deer Valley has a road game against Surprise Valley Vista that night.
