Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized the top 50 high school boys basketball players in America. Past honorees include NBA All-Stars Kevin Durant (2006), Blake Griffin (2007), Kevin Love (2006-07) and Derrick Rose (2006-07).

Selections are based on team success, individual production and local, regional and state honors from the recently completed season. Potential at the college or professional level is not a primary consideration. Players in post-graduate programs are not eligible for inclusion.

FIRST TEAM

Cliff Alexander, Curie (Chicago)

National Player of the Year frontrunner until career came to a tumultuous end as eligibility issues caused Curie to forfeit all 25 wins. Put up 24 points and 15 rebounds per game, helped Condors knock off then-No. 1 Montverde Academy at Spalding Hoophall Classic.
