Basketball record book for girls updated

March 4, 2013 by Jose Garcia, AZPreps365

Thanks to the efforts of Seton Catholic head coach Karen Self, the basketball record book for girls basketball didn't gather dust.

When Barry Sollenberger, the Arizona Interscholastic Association's first historian, passed away in 2005, Self, without being asked to, watched over the record book for her sport. Self forwarded the updated record book to aia365.com this season.

If you look at the record book, you'll notice that Self spent a lot of time keeping track of several stats.

"I just feel that if we are going to say it's going to be our record, then it should be as accurate as possible," said Self when aia365.com talked to her in September.

Thank you, coach Self.

If a basketball coach or player notices that a stat needs to be updated, please let us know.

With 200-plus high schools in Arizona, it takes a lot of time to keep track of every school.

Self can attest to that.
