Arizona Soccer Showcase returns to Scottsdale

After a successful inaugural tournament a year ago, Year Two of the Arizona Soccer Showcase is set Dec. 27-31 at the Scottsdale Sports Complex.
The site is at Hayden and Bell roads in north Scottsdale, adjacent to the Tournament Players Club, home of the Phoenix Open Golf Tournament.
The tournament, presented by the Phoenix Regional Sports Commission, will feature 56 high school teams (32 boys, 24 girls) from Arizona and California. College recruiters from around the nation will be evaluating the players.
Phoenix Brophy Prep defeated Gilbert in the inaugural boys title match, and Iolani, Hawaii, edged Cave Creek Cactus Shadows for the girls crown.
Matches begin at 9 a.m. and run all day through 7 p.m. Boys and girls championship matches are Dec. 31 at 1 p.m.
