While the Lions earned 277 receiving yards on 18 receptions with an average of 15.39 yards per reception. Liberty was very productive on the ground with 171 rushing yards on 30 carries, which kept the Trojan’s defense offense. Paradise Valley rushed for 59 total yards on 26 carries. The Trojan defense forced 2 sacks on Liberty quarterback Tyler Rogers. Liberty brought down Trojan quarterback Ryan Finley for 3 sacks and the loss of 14 total yards.
Liberty entered last year’s state tournament as the No. 3 seed and defeated No. 15 seeded Poston Butte, but they were taken out of the tournament in the second round by No. 7 Arcadia 35-34. The Trojans fell short of making the state tournament last season and will look to upset the Lions in tonight’s game.
