Preview- Highland at Mesa Mountain View

Two teams will jockey for playoff position when Mesa Mountain View plays host to Highland in an important Division I matchup Friday night. The Toros are currently seeded 7th in the latest MaxPreps polls, while Highland is number 10 in the same rankings. Both teams enter the game with 5-2 records
Mountain View's two losses have come at the hands of teams that the Hawks have defeated (Desert Ridge and Desert Mountain). Highland is averaging almost 210 yards on the ground per contest but only 26 points per game. Senior running back Ryan McCord is the top rusher for Highland at 97.7 yards a contest
Mountain View makes much of its hay in the air, averaging 230 yards passing per game. Junior signal caller John Clark has thrown for 11 touchdowns on the year but has also been picked off 7 times. Clark's top target is junior wideout Clark Brown, who has 38 catches and seven touchdown receptions
The Toros look to win their sixth consecutive game in 2012 after starting the season 0-2. The Hawks have scored at least 28 points in each of their five victories this year. Game time is set for 7pm.
