June 12, 2024 by Jackson Shaw, Arizona State University

Two-hundred and fifty-plus teams. Five-hundred-plus college coaches. Twelve courts packed with action.

The Arizona Basketball Coaches Association (ABCA) kicks off the fourth annual Section 7 Basketball Team Camp this weekend at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, home of the Arizona Cardinals and the setting for the 2024 Men’s Final Four.

This massive high school basketball event will take place over two weekends: June 14-15 (girls) and June 21-23 (boys).

The Section 7 Camp attracts some of the top teams from all across the west, giving players a chance to be seen by hundreds of NCAA coaches.

"Section 7 continues to be a premier destination for elite high school teams and college coaches," said Matt King, Executive Director of the Arizona Basketball Coaches Association. "The atmosphere of State Farm Stadium, which recently hosted the Men's Final Four, adds an added level of excitement to every game. This year, we're elevating the fan experience by granting all attendees access to the floor, bringing them closer to the action than ever before. We are thrilled to create an unforgettable experience in Glendale for players, coaches and fans alike."

The ABCA, located in Phoenix, is a 501(c)(3) organization that connects, develops and serves every coach in Arizona.

Besides Section 7, the association operates multiple events throughout the year, including an annual Youth Development Academy where over 2,500 players from third through eighth grade participate in three separate regions.

Participating in this year’s Section 7 Camp are among the best teams in the country. Harvard-Westlake boys basketball from Studio City, California was MaxPreps' No. 3 ranked team in the nation this past season, and Roosevelt High from Eastvale, California was No. 4.

Sierra Canyon guard Bryce James, LeBron James’ son, will be in attendance as well.

Grace Knox, ESPN’s No. 8 recruit in the class of 2025, and California Etiwanda High are in the Girls AZ Sports and Entertainment bracket alongside maxpreps’ 2023-34 No. 2 San Jose Archbishop Mitty. Chandler Hamilton gets the honors of playing Etiwanda, the 2023-24 maxpreps national champ, first (10:30 a.m. Friday).

Archbishop Mitty, which starts U17 National Team member McKenna Woliczko, kicks off its Section 7 tour Friday at 2:15 p.m. against Perry, a 2024-25 Arizona title contender.

Seventy-three total Arizona teams from the boys and girls will be showcased during this year's event.

Tickets for the girls' and boys' weekends are on sale now for $60 per session. More information can be found at seatgeek.com/section-7-tickets.

This year, all tickets are designated as general admission and include coveted floor access - ensuring a prime view of the action.

The Section 7 Camp is a part of the June scholastic events that are sanctioned by the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) and the NCAA. Because this event is sponsored by the AIA and run by the ABCA, it is open to all NCAA and NAIA coaches.
