Catalina Foothills beat Nogales 7-2 at home Monday to improve to 2-1 on the year. The 2023 Division II state championship program lost to D-I power Xavier 9-0 to start the season on March 12. It was the first loss for the Falcons dating back to late March of 2019, a 62-0 run with five straight state championships.

Nogales fell to 0-3 on the year and things won’t get much easier with the Apaches visiting Salpointe (2-0) on Tuesday. The Falcons will host Rincon/University (2-0) on Tuesday also.
