Megan Collard, junior, shows off her 9th place medal in the small schools varsity girls 5K run Western Equinox XC Festival Meet.

Laura Fellows is the media advisor for Gilbert Christian's Student SID program that contributes content on behalf of the school to AZPreps365.com. 

The Gilbert Christian High School Cross Country Team participated in the Western Equinox XC Festival Hosted by Epic Tourneys at Freestone Park in Gilbert, AZ on Saturday, September 24, 2022. It was a hot but beautiful day for the runners.

Both teams ran a good race with the girl's team finishing 7th out of 11 teams, while the boy's team finished 11th out of 19 teams. 

Highlights from the meet include:

  • Megan Collard ran a season best, finishing in 9th place out of 91 girls.

  • Lizzie Biek ran a personal best of 26:26

  • Drew Carson ran a personal best of 19:24

  • Jackson Lundberg ran a personal best of 19:52

  • Chaucer Tutty ran a personal best of 19:52

  • Nolan Engel ran a season best of 20:36

  • Samuel Sagastume ran a personal record of 33:00
