On February 4th at Canyon View Arena, the Canyon View Jaguars beat the Verrado Vipers by a score of 46-33.

"We really showed out and came through as a team, we really pushed through and had good energy," senior Taylor Jacobs said after the game.

Sophomore Madison Reibel started the Jaguar scoring with a three point basket and senior Caidyn Spickler went for a layup to get things started for the Lady Jags. Spickler followed up with a three-point shot which made the score 8-6 and fellow senior Angelina Theil made two free throw to put Canyon View in front 10-9 at the end of the first quarter.

In a back and forth second quarter, junior Ella Seymour hit a three-pointer and senior center Taylor Jacobs made layup and a free throw to end the first half with the Lady Vipers ahead by a point.

Jacobs started the half with two layups which gave the Jags a 24-21 lead. Reibel made both free throws to make the score 28-21, and Spickler finished the quarter with her second three point basket of the game to put Canyon View ahead by a basket heading into the fourth quarter.

Theil began the final quarter with a two point shot which made the score 33-29. Seymour made both free throw shots later in the quarter which increased the Jaguar lead 37-30. Spickler and Seymour both added three-pointers to help Canyon View pull ahead for good as Verrado was forced to finish the game with just four players due to injury and foul trouble.

"Wish them the best, hope they do whatever they love in life and have a good time and that hopefully they learned something from us about being a part of a family and team," head coach Desirae Carranza said to the seniors after the game.
