Brianne Rust is a sophomore on the GCHS Softball team. This is her second year playing on the Gilbert Christian team. This season has brought a lot of new experiences and memories.

The softball team definitely had some ups and downs this season but they all put in their best effort and continued to work hard. Brianne says, “The best game we played was either Phoenix Christian because we won and had a lot of energy or Pusch Ridge because even though we lost there was a really pretty view of the mountain behind their school and sunset.”

Despite the wins and losses, the team made a lot of great memories. Her favorite memory she says, “was definitely the bus rides on the way to games, whether we were singing, talking, or playing games, we were always bonding as a team.”

Softball has also given her many learning experiences. She says, “Softball has taught me to persevere and to not give up, even though I may want to quit at times.” Playing softball has given her the ability to stay determined and persevere even through trials.

“I am planning on doing it again next year. We have such a new team. This year half of our players were playing softball for the first time ever,” she explains. She is excited to watch the team grow together and work really hard once again next year. She encourages other students to come out and play for the team next year.
