Cheyenne Clouatre is a sophomore on the JV and Varsity women’s soccer team. She has been playing soccer for about eight years, however, this is her first year playing on the school team. Overall she has enjoyed her experience playing for Gilbert Christian so far. She says, “It has been a hard season but seeing it pay off in the end is what makes it great.”

The Varsity team has been doing very well this season, and has put in their best effort to make it to the playoffs, their efforts seemed to have paid off. The Varsity women’s soccer team made playoffs this year and could not be more excited. From each game to the next, whether JV or Varsity, they continue to improve and work better as a team. Cheyenne says one of the best games they played was against Thatcher because, “We communicated more and connected our passes to make our way up the field.”

Along with the team's highlights, also comes Cheyenne’s personal achievements. She says, “The first goal I made was a home game against ALA, I flicked the ball with my knee, sprinted after it, and slid it in the goal.” Then during the game against ACP, Cheyenne made two more goals. She says, “I carried the ball down the field, cut back on the defenders chasing after me, and scored at the far post.” She continues to work hard to improve more and more.

Soccer has also improved her mentality towards the way she lives life as well. She explains that soccer has taught her “to have faith that God has got my back because I don’t have strength on my own, and to keep grinding and never give up when you feel like quitting.” Through playing soccer she says she has also been able to determine “that I am capable of doing more than I think I can.” Soccer has pushed her and given her the opportunity to persevere in order to accomplish her goals and continue to excel.
