COVID-19 is taking a toll on student athletes. Many student athletes are feeling the impact of COVID-19 dealing with masks to social distancing. ”Cheering at the game with masks is different," said sophomore cheerleader Ella Neilson.

Cheerleading is already a difficult sport and is now even harder due to all of the COVID-19 precautions. "The games this year are different because we have to wear masks and we can't stunt or tumble¨ says Ella Neilson. Sophomore Cheerleader Abigail Kruse says, ¨We have to wear masks and we are kinda far away from the stands.¨

"Cheering during a pandemic takes away lots of parts that make cheer, well cheer,"  Abigail Kruse said, "I miss stunting and tumbling." The cheer team has to take extra precautions to prevent COVID-19.

"I like the team this year," said Ella Neilson, "Even though some things have been negatively impacted, there are some good things that have happened this year to make it a little easier during the pandemic." "I like the bows that we get to wear this year,¨ stated Abigail Kruse in delight of her new hair accessories for cheer.
