Tucson wins Agua Fria Owl Invitational championship

March 6-7: Agua Fria High School

 

Tucson High went 7-0 to capture the championship of the Owl Invitational held at Agua Frida last Friday and Saturday.

Tucson (8-0 overall) lost two sets at the invitational with Agua Fria (5-4) forcing the Badgers to a third set on Friday night and Verrado (6-1) took the first set of the championship match against Tucson 25-15 before dropping the last two, 25-21 and 15-10.

Tucson hosts Mountain View Marana (2-0) on Wednesday, Mar. 11 before heading out to the Cougar Invitational hosted by Kellis High School next Friday and Saturday. Verrado has a little break and will visit Prescott (1-0) on Mar. 18.

Metro Tech (7-2) beat Peoria (4-5) in the Silver Championship match 2-1 (19-25, 25-21, 15-11).
