Window Rock's Cynthia Smiley and Chinle's Deshawna Yazzie were selected tops during the 3A North Region All-Region voting, during the regional softball tournament in Tuba City.

Smiley was selected 3A North Region Coach of the Year. Smiley guided the Lady Scouts to a 25-6 overall and 9-1 region record. Window Rock captured the regional tournament. Window Rock's trek toward a state tournament berth continued as the Lady Scouts edged Fountain Hills, 3-2, in the 3A Conference Play-In game this past Wednesday.

Yazzie helped lead Chinle to a berth in the 3A Conference Play-In game. Northwest Christian ended the Lady Wildcats' season with a 20-0 win. Yazzie led Chinle in many offensive categories this year.
