FAMILIES AIA365 EXPERIENCE ARE WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT

September 26, 2011 by Kevin Ray, AZPreps365

The note from the mother came in completely unsolicited.  The words were written in a way that you could feel the emotion and sincerity in every one of them.  It was a simple note that delivered a true sense of gratification for all the people behind AIA365.  Let me share with you a few lines from the letter.

“What a treat for my three brothers (all of whom played football in high school, one of them 1st team All State). All three of them are re-living their high school football experience through their nephew with your help!  Haha.  Billy's 82-year-old grandmother in Michigan was thrilled to see the last game against North Canyon.  She could hardly believe that viewing this game was possible.  To someone that age who is not technologically savvy, this is a miracle.”

“So, from California (my sis-in-law) to upstate New York (Uncle Billy) and many relatives in between in Michigan, we thank you for the opportunity to share a part of my son's high school life that otherwise would not be possible.”

It means a great deal to get a letter like that because I think we all know that most times letters only come when there’s a complaint.  Anyone who’s listened to us talk about AIA36 knows that the heart of what we do is really and truly about the student competitors. What wasn’t possible 10 years ago now is and thru the efforts of many we’ve been able to bring that 82 year old grandmother a game that she could actually see and not just have to have her grandson recount it for her.

That game however is just the tip of the iceberg though.  Our goal is for family members & friends to be able to watch a graduation, or maybe the pep rally before the big game.  Or maybe it’s the daily newscast the students produce.  Sports are only a part of what can be seen on AIA365.

In working with more & more schools you’ll start to see that with the schools really taking ownership of their own school page on AIA365.  You’ll see stories written by students about students. Games produced and broadcast by schools and students.  In the end it all makes for a wonderful experience for families, friends and schools.  We look forward to being able to share more stories like the one above as AIA365 continues to grow in the coming months & years.
